Are Mercedes planning a new SL 65 AMG (old model pictured)
It looks like Mercedes-Benz has decided that the world still needs a V12 SL and are planning to reveal the 2012 Mercedes SL65 AMG at next month’s New York Auto Show. As you can’t have failed to notice, with a few exceptions from Italy, big cylinder engines are on the way out in favour of more efficient, and more frugal, forced induction engines with fewer cylinders. But it’s starting to look like Mercedes may be bucking the trend with slightly surprising plans to take a V12 version of the new SL to the New York Auto Show next month – the Mercedes SL 65 AMG.

Didn’t we see this last month? Two months ago actually, but the new Hyundai i10 city car makes its official show debut at Bologna, and CAR was given access to the car the night before the show so we could have a proper poke round it. Hyundai officials also let slip that the Genesis saloon will be shown at the start of 2008 in Detroit, while the production Coupe will be previewed at the New York Motor Show in March 2008.
Following on from our earlier report on the all-new 'gloabl' Chevrolet Malibu come these official images from Chevy. The 2013 year model, is more than just a restyle of the outgoing model. Gaining inches in all dimensions, the Malibu also places a focus on aerodynamics to gain best in segment efficency.
